Have you ever wanted something so bad but had no idea how or what you
had to do to make it happen?

When we first started our blog, Adventure in You, I was flat broke and
all I wanted to do was to earn from our blog so we could keep inspiring
others to muster up the courage to travel through our articles.

I had big dreams but had no idea how to make it actually happen.

It was frustrating pouring a lot of time and effort into something
without seeing direct results.

So what changed for us and how you can avoid making the same mistakes?

To be honest Bettye, our blog only started to grow as soon as we
changed our mindset and set goals for it.

As soon as we started viewing our blog as a business, our blog started
to flourish.

We talk about this and the importance of finding your superpower in our
latest Masterclass training so if you haven't watched it yet, I suggest
you stop what you're doing and watch it now
!

One of the secrets towards building a profitable blog is to create
long-term goals combined with a positive mindset on how to achieve them.

We made actionable plans on HOW we wanted to grow our blog and the
necessary steps we needed to take.

We wrote the exact number that we wanted to make from our blog and
started visualizing what we would do with this revenue.

All of these little mindset changes helped us grow from barely making
$2000 from our blog to now making five figures per month.

So why am I telling you this?

I am telling you this because I want you to start making your own goals
because it will help you build a profitable blog.

I want you to think about it.

What's your long-term goal for your blog? Think 2-3 years.

Is it to make a full-time income from it?

Is it to make an extra $500?

Maybe your goal isn't financial at all and you just want to inspire and
touch as many people as you can while you talk about a subject you're
passionate about.

Whatever your goal is, write it down.

Put it somewhere that you can preferably see every day.

For us, our first blogging goal was to make $10k per month from passive
income revenue streams.

At that time, we were making around $1500-2000 but it was all from
sponsored content and brand partnerships.

There was no consistency.

Because there were two of us, after basic blogging and travel expenses,
we barely had enough to put away for a rainy day.

Motivated by the big goal that we set, we started to see a difference in
how we treated our blog.

This meant that if we wanted it to grow, we had to invest both our time
and money into developing new skills.  We read books, took courses, and
spoke to people so we could pick their brains, hoping to find ideas on
how to keep growing.

All of a sudden, we started becoming strategic about HOW we were
spending our time so we invested in blogging software and tools which
helped increase our productivity.

We put together a marketing plan and had a clear purpose and strategy
for every piece of content that we put out.

Despite all this, the biggest shift in us was in our MINDSET.

Because we BELIEVED that we could make it happen, we stopped listening
to the tiny voices in our heads which was filling us with self-doubt.

Let me ask you  Bettye, do you often ask yourself these questions?

"What if I don't make it?"

"What if I fail?"

"What if I keep putting all this work and will never see results?"

"Who will ever want to read my stuff?"

Replace those doubts with self-affirmation and belief that you CAN make
your goals happen.

We realized that the only difference between us and all the other
successful bloggers was that they were able to get rid of the 'what-ifs'
and 'I-don't-know-if-I-can-do-this' ideas that lingered in their heads.

Instead, they just went for it.

I challenge you to try it. Think of a blogging goal and write down
actionable steps on what you need to do to make it happen.

I promise you Bettye, this stuff works.

Remember though, goals will be goals if you're not willing to put in the
work!

That's it from me. I hope you have a great day
