** Some must-watch interviews this weekend...

APOLOGIES - OUR EARLIER EMAIL CONTAINED SOME MISSING LINKS.
Hi Lilian

With the cannabis referendum soon to be held, we thought this weekend would be a great opportunity to do a bit of research and understand some of the key issues around this debate. So here's five great interviews to watch (in no order of preference - but all relevant!)

We believe that knowledge will lead to right decisions (Know Means No) - so please take time to view these interviews. In fact, why not make it a family night. :-)

Author, consultant, advisor to three U.S. presidential administrations, and assistant professor, Kevin Sabet, Ph.D., has studied, researched, written about, and implemented drug policy for more than 20 years. He is currently the President and CEO of SAM (Smart Approaches to Marijuana). He talks to Say Nope To Dope spokesperson Aaron Ironside about the effects of legalisation of marijuana in the US, and why he's encouraging New Zealanders to vote NO in the upcoming referendum.

With the discussion around drug-driving this week, this story is very relevant. Corinne Gasper lost her daughter to a marijuana-impaired driver. Corinne has a message for New Zealand.

Starting off with cannabis as a young person in West Auckland, Vincent's weekend use became everyday use. And then became all day use. He’d do what was called wake and bake & go to work high. And then get high at lunchtime. And get high when he got home. It was a gateway drug to LSD, methamphetamine, cocaine, synthetic cannabis and opioid abuse.

"The idea that legalising / commercialising cannabis is going to deal with those systemic injustices and inequalities in our nation is naive at best if not outright appropriating issues of systemic injustice for personal gain and personal profit."
Will Jones is a Communications and Outreach Associate at Smart Approaches to Marijuana (SAM). He talks to Say Nope To Dope spokesperson Aaron Ironside about the effects of legalisation of marijuana in the US, what it really means for 'social justice', and why he's encouraging New Zealanders to vote NO in the upcoming referendum.

SayNopetoDope coalition member and South Auckland community worker Ronji Tanielu was on Tagata Pasifika this week debating cannabis legalisation with Presbyterian Minister Rev Mua Strickson-Pua.
