Hello Tuesday. It's Katie.

We expect to follow 100+ new restaurant openings in Charlotte this year. That's a lot to keep up with and by default becomes the bulk of our food and drink coverage.

But then there are all those already established neighborhood favorites that are hardly off the radar for loyal fans but aren't necessarily generating the same widespread buzz with VIP previews and PR campaigns.

Today we're looking at 9 such spots that are quietly killing it in their respective neighborhoods — from a popular seafood market on Freedom Drive to a quaint wine bar in a historic Fourth Ward home.

Dedicated regulars already know what's up, but you might just find something new to you.

The mortgage shopping company has talked about moving from Ballantyne to SouthPark but is growing too fast to fit there — kind of like your suburban friends with kids. Now they're eyeing Pineville's historic Cone Mill, a 30-acre property dating back to 1890.

What to expect a Barcelona Wine Bar, a Spanish-inspired tapas bar coming to South End [Arnold] (https://www.charlotteagenda.com/122361/barcelona-wine-bar-south-end-menu-tapas-location/)

A review of service difficulty reports submitted to the FAA from January to October 2016 found more than 100 serious mechanical complications — from aborted takeoffs to mid-air engine failures. I'll continue to roll the dice for cheap flights to Florida.
