Dear Winston,

First, we have big election news to share!

We’re thrilled to congratulate Kara Eastman, who won her congressional
primary race last night in Nebraska in a shocking upset. She was running
against a conservative former congressman, and the race was a referendum
on Medicare For All (Kara supports it, he opposes it). Kara is showing
that populism can win in the Midwest!

Other winners from last night…

* In Pennsylvania, endorsed candidates Sara Inamorato, Elizabeth
Fiedler, Kristin Seale, Chris Rabb, Danielle Friel Otten, and
Claudette Williams won their primaries for state legislature. Helen
Tai won her special election, which flips a Republican-held open seat
in the legislature.
* In Oregon, Deb Patterson won her primary for state Senate, and
Susheela Jayapal won the Multnomah County Commissioner’s race.
* Mina Davis, a 24-year-old first-time candidate, advances to the
general election for Nebraska state legislature.
* Dan and Shem Hanks, two Medicare for All activists and brothers who
are running for Idaho state legislature, both advance to the general

Step-by-step relationships with reporters…

If you want to get a head start before the webinar, check out our
step-by-step guide to building relationships with reporters — including
smart ways to engage on Twitter, and using casual coffee meetings to begin
a friendly dialogue. [ https://act.boldprogressives.org/go/40301?t=1009&akid=53302%2E2895664%2E-aGVQ3 ]Click here to download the guide, and feel free to

Empower your team to plan press events…

We’ve written a checklist of everything you’ll need to plan a press event,
including speaker prep and signage. Hand this checklist to your team, and
they can start organizing great events that generate attention and media
coverage for your campaign. We’ve also written separate, handy guides to
prepping speakers before a press event and making your event a success.

Manage reporters in one place…

Don’t forget that we offer a special app to allow you to organize all your
reporter contacts, including their Twitter handles. It’s available through
PIES, our campaign software. If you don’t have an account yet, [ https://act.boldprogressives.org/go/39232?t=1013&akid=53302%2E2895664%2E-aGVQ3 ]learn

Now lights, camera, action…

Next month, candidates from around the country will be standing up
together to call for millions of jobs by rebuilding roads, bridges, and
water pipes. Use your new skills to join the campaign and hold a press
event in your area. We’ll send you more information on that soon, but in
the meantime, save the date — June 14.

Thanks, as always, for being a bold progressive.
