MIAMI -- Derek Jeter says he's not happy with the Marlins' record or attendance in his first year as CEO, but he sees reason for encouragement regarding the direction of the troubled franchise.

Speaking Wednesday before the Marlins' game against the Dodgers, Jeter said there have been a lot of positives regarding the team's performance, despite a 15-26 record. He said the young team is still learning how to win.

The Marlins are likely to finish last in the National League in attendance for the 13th time in 14 years. Jeter said a lot of that is a reflection of the team's performance.

Jeter is upbeat about efforts to rebuild a weak farm system and said he's heavily involved in preparations for next month's draft.
