Asian American filmmakers will discuss the unique challenges and opportunities of building and sustaining careers as immigrant filmmakers. From unique access to communities and their stories, to the burdens of representing new viewpoints in a rapidly changing cultural landscape and filmmaking industry, join us for this relevant and dynamic conversation about what it means to be an immigrant filmmaker today and in the future. Priority will be given to Sundance Credential Holders.

CAAM is incredibly grateful to have a group of esteemed board members. We recently launched a series of blog posts to introduce them. Bill Imada joined CAAM's board 10 years ago and is the founder, chairman and chief connectivity officer of IW Group, an advertising, marketing and communications agency focusing on the growing multicultural and millennial markets. Bill is also on the board of directors of PBS. Bill has been instrumental in building CAAM’s family of supporters and being a strong voice for public media. NBC’S FEMALE FORWARD SEEKS APPLICATIONS FROM FEMALE-IDENTIFIED DIRECTORS UNTIL JANUARY 17TH

Their mission is to achieve gender parity among scripted series directors by systematically increasing the number of qualified women in the field. In the program, spearheaded by NBC President Jennifer Salke in partnership with acclaimed TV director Lesli Linka Glatter, selected female directors are given the opportunity to shadow on up to three episodes of an NBC series.
