Dear Charissa,
Can you imagine telling a mother that her child might die, especially when that young life, in many other places of the world, could be saved?

A few weeks ago, our volunteer doctor Matthew Jones met six-year-old Kerima when she was admitted to our mission hospital. The little girl was very sick, and it didn’t take long to confirm that Kerima was suffering from juvenile diabetes.

In places like South Sudan, diabetes is a death sentence for children living in poverty. Kerima’s mother was overwhelmed with the terrible news, saying:
“My daughter will need insulin shots every day? It’s not possible. We live very far from the hospital. I cannot afford transport or medicine. I can barely afford food. Is there no other way to keep Kerima alive?”
Kerima lives in one of the poorest countries in the world where access to healthcare is very limited.

What will happen to Kerima? Who will help so many children like her—sick children who should live, instead of die? I hope the answer is compassionate friends like you.
Your gift of $100, $200, $500, or any amount, (https://cmmb.org/campaign/all-children-deserve-healthcare-medicine-friends/?utm_source=CMMB+Updates&utm_campaign=2cb7b42e2f-Email_May_17_2018_Kerima&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_781a123e51-2cb7b42e2f-229256705) will provide access to healthcare and medicines for children, even in the most remote communities.
